ALL FOR BOOKS
April 16th-19th
8:15-8:30 Near the front office
Make a difference to a child at MCR!

Dear Bethke Families:

This year, one of our goals is to  ensure as many children as possible receive books and have access to books. One  of the ways we can do that is through the All for Books program April  16th – 19th. With your help, all of the money collected  goes to purchasing more books for the new children’s wing at Medical Center of  the Rockies.

Not only does your donation help our  cause but Scholastic Book Fairs will match monetary donations raised with a  donation of up to one million books to two non-profit organizations  dedicated to helping children, families, and teachers acquire books and  educational resources - Kids In Need Foundation and Kids in Distressed  Situations, Inc.

Please take a moment to donate $1 or  loose change, and sign the attached book slip with your name or child’s name.  All signed book slips will be displayed at our school.

THANK YOU!

Newsletter:

Dear Bobcats,

We are so excited for the opportunity PTO and Bethke Elementary Student Council have to contribute books to the new children's wing at  MCR.  The "All for Books" Scholastic program encourages students and community members to donate loose change and money towards purchasing books  for organizations in need.  In the past we have donated books to a Title I school, Respite Care, and Santa Cops.  Scholastic then matches the donations and  gives to two non-profit organizations.  By helping MCR we end up helping kids across
the country.  This is a great way to demonstrate to students the power of giving and help them make giving a habit!

Our goal is to collect enough money to purchase 250 books for the new children's wing at Medical Center of the Rockies!

Our fundraising will take place April 15th-19th.  We will then use the monies collected to purchase books from our school book fair.  Student Council will then have the opportunity to deliver the books to MCR and take a tour around the hospital.

Thank you, Bethke families, for all you do for our community and our Bobcats!

Sincerely,
Student Council  Representatives

PARK THE PHONE!

Join Student Council in our campaign to keep
our drop-off/pick-up zone and parking lots safe!

(To view the above video please open full screen)
February 4th - 8th student council is campaigning for a safer drop-off/pick-up and parking lot area.  We are encouraging drivers to put down their phones.  Our goal is to create a cell phone free zone to ensure the safety of our Bobcats!  Help us by "picking up your child, not your phone."

Students, listen to KBOB to learn about the effects distracted driving has on the lives of many.  Each day student council will share one fact about the dangers of texting and driving. Also, look for student council members at the front of the school to learn more about distracted driving.

Quarter Wars 2012: Los Quinchos!

Quarters for Orphans

Bring in your spare change and make a WORLD of difference to orphans in Nicaragua!

These children have no place to stay over the holiday break and will be put on the street without our much needed donat5ions!  Our goal is to make sure EVERY CHILD has a safe place to stay over the holiday break.

Bring in quarters (or any spare change) between December 10th through Friday, December 14th to your classroom!  Student council will collect, count, and tally donations daily.  The classroom with the greatest donation will earn a SURPRISE reward!

The Bethke student council will donate all proceeds collected to Los Quinchos Orphanage in Nicaraugua.

Thank you for all your support!
